Radiographic study on the incidence of the pulp stones in dental pulps


Abstract
The author has observed, radiographically, the incidence of pulp stones in 378 dental students es in (20 year old).
The results were as follows:
1. Pulp stones were found in 97 students out of 378, showing 25.5%.
2. Pulp stone was found in upper 1st molars, lower 1st molar, upper and lower 3rd molars in order.
In premolars, the incidence in mandibular is higher than in maxillar.
3. Generally, pulp stone was found more frequently in maxillary than in mandible. Posterior ce of showed higher incidence than anterior. Right side was higher than left.
4. Pulp stone was located more frequently in pulp chamber than in root canal, and these were free from dental wall rather than attached to wall dentine.
